Best Auto Loan Rates – December 2022

Last updated December 15, 2022 – Auto loan rates will vary based on your past credit history and the term (length) of your loan, but below we offer a sampling of the best auto loan rates from lenders that publish their auto loan rate ranges publicly. NOTE that quoted rates provide a snapshot of where current rates stand but are not guaranteed:

Chase Auto Loans – Offers auto loan rates from 6.84% to 13.04% on new and used car purchases, depending on your credit history and length of loan. Loan terms from 48 to 72 months.

LightStream – Offers auto loan rates from 6.99% to 13.74% on new and used car purchases, depending on your credit history and the length of the loan. Loan terms from 36 months to 84 months. Requires AutoPay to get lowest rate (otherwise rate is 0.50% higher).

Bank of America Auto Loans – Auto loans on new cars may be as low as a 5.29% APR, while used cars from private parties start as low as 8.19% APR. These numbers are based on a 60-month loan term. Unfortunately, Bank of America does not provide further information on your possible rate unless you actually apply (which does not obligate you to take out the loan).

US Bank Auto Loans – Offers auto loans on new cars and used cars from dealers only, with rates starting as low as a 7.36% APR for loan terms up to 60 months, though you’ll need excellent credit to have a shot at a rate that low.

Navy Federal Credit Union – Offers auto loans with rates as low as 4.54% APR for new cars and as low as 5.44% for used cars. Loan terms available up 72 months.
