It’s definitely nothing to swear by just yet, but a Redditor who claims to work for Chase says that the Chase Freedom Unlimited Card will be offering “a 3% bonus on certain categories” within the next month or so. If the rumor is true, it could make the Chase Freedom Unlimited more competitive in the cash-back space — it’s current 1.5% flat cash back rate is essentially a “me too” rate unless you are working the Chase Trifecta.
The same Redditor also suggests that the standard Chase Freedom card may be going away, but that definitely seems like conjecture, so take that with a grain of salt.
Would the addition of certain 3% categories make you pick your Chase Freedom Unlimited back up and use it?
