Updated February 11, 2020 – FatWallet’s closing in late 2017 bummed out many a personal finance geek. There were tons of other people out in the world that wanted to talk about deals and post their findings and strategies! Then… poof. We can’t bring FatWallet back, but we can offer this list of alternatives to the dearly departed home of deal talk. While they may not exactly be a replacement for FatWallet’s forums, they’re at least something:
- Slickdeals Forums – The most similar thing you’re going to find to the FatWallet forums. A thriving community of deals, freebies, coupons, etc.
- Reddit/Deals – Reddit has an online forum for just about everything under the sun, and this Deals forum is probably Reddit’s closest thing to FatWallet forums.
- Phat Wallet Forums – This site is essentially attempting to recreate the FatWallet forums that you came to know and love. Things are slow so far, but you might want to jump in and improve the community.
- Spoofee – Under-the-radar deals site actually has a pretty active discussion forum.
- DealsPlus Forums – An OK online deals forum that could use a few more members to liven things up.
- AnandTech Hot Deals Forum – The larger AndandTech site is mostly about tech & electronics products, but any sort of deal goes at this forum — though many of the deals and freebies are still computer/electronics related.
- GottaDeal Forums – Same format as FatWallet and Slickdeals but a substantially smaller forum community.
