Finance Pros: Michelle Singletary

Michelle Singletary is a long-time personal finance columnist for The Washington Post. Her columns, which appear on Wednesday and Sunday in the Post, are titled “The Color of Money” and are also syndicated to over 100 other newspapers. She has appeared as a guest on a number of TV news shows to offer financial advice.

Singletary is the author of five personal finance books. Her most recent book, The 21 Day Financial Fast (published in 2014), encourages readers to take three weeks to spend money only on necessities while making a plan to erase their debt and build a stronger financial foundation going forward.

Singletary and her husband, Kevin McIntyre, lead an 11-month financial program called “Prosperity Partners Ministry” at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden in the Washington, D.C. area.
