If you’re a movie lover who’s considered the MoviePass subscription service in the past, you’ll be even more tempted starting today. MoviePass is now offering a first-year subscription for $89.95. The regular MoviePass subscription price is $9.95 per month, which would work out to $119.40 over the course of a year, so it’s roughly a 25% discount if you’re willing to pony up for a full-year subscription all at once. (MoviePass has actually stopped offering the per-month plan to new customers while promoting this full-year offer.)

After the first year, your MoviePass subscription would revert to the standard pricing, meaning you’ll pay $9.95 per month from that point.

If you’re already a MoviePass customer paying that $9.95 monthly subscription fee, you wont be left jealous of the newbies. You can also get the next year of your MoviePass at the $89.95 rate.

MoviePass allows you to see one standard movie at any participating theater each day. (That means 3-D movies, IMAX, and the like aren’t included.) MoviePass says their subscription is good at 91% of U.S. movie theaters, so there’s a good chance your local theater accepts it.

The current average price per movie ticket is $8.84, according to the National Association of Theater Owners. Doing the math, if you see even one movie per month (or if you’d like to), you’ll save over the standard ticket price with MoviePass. Once the first year subscription is over, you’d need to see about 1.2 movies per month to save money 🙂
