Safeway grocery stores do not offer price matching.
Safeway has tested a price match policy known as “Deal Match” in a limited number of cities in the past, but no longer offers that program.
In addition, Safeway makes it clear that it will not match coupons from competitor stores:
- “We will accept only coupons issued by Safeway or the manufacturer of the relevant product.”

Safeway’s “Safeway for U” program is the best way for its customers to get Safeway coupons and other “personalized deals” based on your past shopping behaviors.
