Updated: Now official, most details below confirmed.

Beauty retailer Sephora is set to launch a new rewards credit card sometime in the near future. The cards will be issued in partnership with Alliance Data, which is the parent company of Comenity Bank and Comenity Capital Bank, one of which will likely be the actual issuer of the cards.

There are few further details beyond this Alliance Data announcement, but this WWD.com article suggests there will be a Visa card and perhaps a store-only card as well. The card’s rewards will likely build off Sephora’s existing Beauty Insider rewards program.

This Reddit conversation suggests that Sephora employees are not looking forward to pushing the card on their in-store customers.
