Airbnb has become so popular, I’ve often thought they should launch a rewards credit card. People would jump at the chance to earn rewards or discounts on Airbnb, because in many ways it’s become like the world’s biggest hotel “chain” — if you can consider a collection of privately-owned living spaces a chain.
But then I realize there sort of already is an Airbnb credit card, a card that gives you a 3% rebate on all of your Airbnb stays — plus a ton of other perks.
Yep, the credit card with Uber’s name on the front is actually the best card to use for Airbnb purchases, because you get a 3% rebate on every Airbnb rental, plus 3% on other vacation rentals you might book through sites like VRBO and HomeAway.
The 3% rebate on Airbnb rentals is of course just part of what the Uber credit card offers you. You also get:
- 4% back on dining, making it maybe the best rewards card for dining out as well
- 3% back on hotels and airfare (as well as Airbnb and other vacation rentals)
- 2% back on online purchases, which includes Uber rides and streaming services as well as general e-commerce
- 1% back on everything else.
The Uber Visa is one of our Top Ten Credit Cards because of all these perks, but in this case I wanted to highlight the Airbnb aspect, because it doesn’t get talked about much and it’s really a nice perk — especially when you consider that this is a credit card that does not charge an annual fee.
Honestly I have to wonder if this card will dial back some of the benefits over time, because it’s a pretty sweet rewards formula and you wonder if it’s maybe even too generous.
