If you have a big credit card balance sitting at 18%, 20%, or even more, you might want to take advantage of credit cards that allow you to transfer your balance over to the new card and then give you over a year to pay it off at a 0% interest rate. Some of these cards charge you a one-time fee to transfer the balance, but some have no balance transfer fee for new cardholders. None of these cards charges an annual fee.

  • Amex EveryDay Credit Card – You can transfer your existing balance to this American Express card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 months. Plus, you’ll pay no balance transfer fee if you transfer the balance within the first 60 days of getting the card. This card also allows you to earn American Express Membership Rewards points on your purchases.
  • BankAmericard Credit Card – You can transfer your existing balance to this Bank of America credit card and pay no interest on the balance for 15 billing cycles. Plus, you’ll pay no balance transfer fee if you transfer the balance within the first 60 days of getting the card. (The student version of this credit card offers the same balance transfer deal.)
  • Chase Slate – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on the balance for 15 months. Plus, you’ll pay no balance transfer fee if you transfer the balance within the first 60 days of getting the card.



  • Citi Double Cash – You can transfer your existing balance to this credit card and pay no interest on that balance for 18 months. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a reward program giving essentially 2% cash back (or 2 ThankYou reward points per dollar) on every purchase, assuming you pay off your balance in full. (Technically you get 1% cash back when you make a purchase and the other 1% when you pay it off.)
  • US Bank Visa Platinum – You can transfer your existing balance to this credit card and pay no interest on that balance for 18 months. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Does not have a rewards program.
  • Wells Fargo Platinum Card – You can transfer your existing balance to this credit card and pay no interest on that balance for 18 months. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Does not have a rewards program.
  • Blue Cash Everyday Card – You can transfer your existing balance to this American Express card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 months. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program that includes 3% cash back at U.S. supermarkets.
  • American Express Cash Magnet Card – You can transfer your existing balance to this credit card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 months. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a reward program that gives you 1.5% cash back on all purchases you make with the card.
  • Bank of America Cash Rewards – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program that includes 3% cash back in a purchasing category of your choice (from a list of categories such as gas, online shopping, dining, etc.). (The student version of this credit card offers the same balance transfer deal.)
  • Capital One Quicksilver Rewards Card – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program that gives you 1.5% cash back on every purchase you make with the card.


  • Capital One SavorOne Rewards Card – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program giving 3% cash back on dining & entertainment purchases, 2% back at grocery stores, and 1% everywhere else.
  • Chase Freedom Card – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program that gives you 5% cash back (or 5 points per dollar in the Chase Ultimate Rewards program) on certain purchase categories that change each calendar quarter. (Purchasing categories that don’t earn 5% will only get 1%.)
  • Chase Freedom Unlimited – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program that gives you 1.5% cash back (or 1.5 points per dollar in the Chase Ultimate Rewards program) on every purchase you make with the card.
  • Citi Rewards+ Card – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program that gives 2 ThankYou reward points for supermarket and gas station purchases, 1 point per dollar everywhere else, plus a roundup feature that can give you extra points on your purchases and reward redemptions.
  • Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program that gives you 1.5% cash back on every purchase you make with the card.
  • Wyndham Rewards Visa – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program that lets you earn points toward hotel stays at Wyndham, Ramada, La Quinta, and other hotels under the Wyndham umbrella.
  • NFL Extra Points Credit Card – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program that lets you earn points toward NFL tickets, merchandise, experiences, etc.
  • Barnes & Noble Credit Card – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program that gives 5% back on Barnes & Noble purchases and points on other purchases, too.
  • Choice Privileges Visa – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program for the Choice Hotels chains including Comfort Inn, Clarion, EconoLodge, etc.
  • Upromise Mastercard – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. You’ll earn 1.25% cash back on all of your purchases made with this card.
  • Priceline Rewards Visa – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a rewards program that gives you 5 points per dollar on Priceline purchases and other point opportunities as well.
  • Wells Fargo Visa Signature – You can transfer your existing balance to this card and pay no interest on that balance for 15 billing cycles. However, there is a 3% balance transfer fee. Offers a modest rewards program that gives you 1 reward point per dollar (though you can earn extra points on certain purchases for the first six months).
